Introductory insights into the Blue Economy

The blue economy has gained increasing global attention as a strategic approach to sustainable development through the responsible use of ocean and aquatic resources. It includes economic activities related to oceans, seas, rivers, and coastal areas while ensuring environmental protection and long-term resource sustainability. This article offers an introductory overview of the blue economy, highlighting its key sectors such as fisheries, maritime shipping, marine tourism, renewable ocean energy, and marine biotechnology. It also discusses the potential contributions of the blue economy to economic growth, food security, job creation, and environmental conservation. The study stresses the importance of sustainable marine resource management and policy frameworks that support the growth of ocean-based industries. By examining the core principles and opportunities within the blue economy, this article aims to improve understanding of its role in fostering sustainable national and global development.References
